I cant seem to find where to download the previous 1.01 loser stats. I have looked on data.betfair.com and it seems you have to pay £200 a month for this data. Does anyone have any idea where I can obtain such data for free in an excel format?

I understand Timeform have it but it would be a very long process to collate it all.

Thanks for the reply. I cant seem to get the data into a CSV by year. Does anyone have it to hand. I can only download a day at a time. Thanks.

I tried to download the 2017 data that was in .txt format, However I have now managed to download 2016 back in CSV. Thanks very much. Wouldn't happen to know how to convert the 2017 data file to CSV?
Really Appreciate your help.

Just import it into excel. Excel handles .csv, .txt .xlm and about 100 other formats.

If it's all loading into one cell per line then highlight the column containing that cell and 'parse' it into seperate columns (delimetted by commas).Google 'excel parse' if unsure how.

Then highlight the whole sheeet (ctrl-A) and select 'sort' from the Data menu and choose whatever sort order you want. Auto filter is a quick way to count just certain values etc, as the number of lines selected is shown in the lower status bar.

From memory of my 2012-2017 data:
999,998 horses
61,300 hit 1.01 and 750? lost ... i think it was 98.69% winners vs 1.23% losers, with the difference being dead heats. Commission ruins any perceived edge and getting to the front of the 1.01 queue is nigh on impossible. Variations do exist between courses where trackside visibility or tv camera locations aren't favourable.
