I backed a winner inrunning tonight for 500 @1.6646922 (as per the log)and when I greened up it was for 245 approx across all selections - now I know greening up can go pear shaped inrunning and I have the scars to prove it - but I have been doing it for a long time and this is the 1st time that the maths don't make sense to me. So the log says my back bet was fully matched for [email protected] and Greened up by laying 756.95 at 1.61 - the lay was actually matched at 1.59. Now by my reckoning a green up stake of 756.95 would be at odds of 1.10 and would give me 245 approx across all selections, which is what I saw on the screen at the time.
I finished up 113 red and my initial thought was that I had hit the green up button twice, but the log shows just 1 green up.
Anyone got any ideas on how 756.95 was submitted at 1.61.

If you can post the actual log it should make it easier to figure out exactly what happened

Dallas, I sent it to you as a PM, I didn't want to put the bet details up on the forum.

Did you manually green up at 1.61, or did you have a fill/kill for 5 ticks?

If BA automatically greened for you, then numbers are totally wrong. It would suggest the price was 1.10 as you suggest

If you put the lay bet in manually, you don't by any chance have a setting of Laying by Liability ticked do you? - £500 stakes to back at 1.66, is also £757 when laying at 1.66 for £500 liability

Le Tiss it was Bet Angel's green up that I used, no manual or fill/kill was used. As I said I've done this probably thousands of times before, never seen this happen.

The reason I ask about 'Laying by Liability' is because £756.95 is the stakes for £500 liability, laying at odds of 1.66

No, I used BA automatic green up. The log states Greened up by laying 756.95 at 1.61.

OK, I can't help you then!

It just seems strange that you backed at 1.66 for £500, and then the lay bet BA put in was £756.95 - which is a £500 liability also at 1.66. It just happens that that price was matched at 1.61 instead IR

Were you using the One-click screen or the Ladder screen?

If the Ladder screen, did you use the left hand column to green up a SINGLE selection or did you use the green-up figure/button at the top of the screen that greens up ALL of the selections in one-click? One would think using either would end up with the same result, but I'm pretty sure it does not as the latter is a bit like a betfair cash-out (at any odds) whereas the single selection green-up is reliable and shares that trade profit across all of the selections.

If I could I would disable the green-up figure/button at the top of the screen as I believe this is useful for information only and never to be clicked. If you used the latter what you are saying does not surprise me. I never use the green up figure/button at the top. I only ever use the green-up column to the left of each selection - subject to liquidity, that works 100%.

Thanks Le Tiss. I know it seems strange that a lay of 756.95 at 1.66 has a liability of 500, but the green up lay was 756.95 at 1.61 and was matched at 1.59. If the lay had happened at 1.66 I would have an even bigger head scratcher.

Tuco, I was using the One Click screen and I used the green up button on the same row as the horses name, not the button at the top of the screen.

I sent the log and the Betfair bets history to the guys in Bet Angel, and they asked development to look into the issue, but they are at a loss to explain it. "All the price & greening calculations are synchronised in Bet Angel so what you have seen should be impossible".
Bit worrying going forward, particularly when using bigger stakes.
