Making Market not OffSetting

Hello..am a new user....at Goodwood today trying to Make Markets with Offset and greening....but on some transactions only Bet is being taken and not the Lay bet leaving leaving exposure. Is this correct or should the 2 bets the Lay and back only be accepted together?? Please help..thx

The 'Make Market' button puts both bets into the market at the same time a tick apart but they still need to be matched

Hello..thankyou very much for your reply..it was very informative..I am most grateful...It makes more sense now...One thing i dont undestand is the Reversed Odds...is it possible to explain that?? Thankyou...
