For Grown-Ups:-
"A pragmatic and evidence-led approach is being adopted in order to enable the BHA to make decisions on Monday as to whether racing can return on Wednesday 13 February. A prioritisation plan for testing is being adopted, which is based on the proximity of horses to a positive test, or to a yard returning a positive test. Swabs will continue to be collected and tested from other horses, but some are being fast tracked. Separately, a specific plan is being formed as to what the clearance process will be for individual yards to return to racing.

This process will remain ongoing through today and tomorrow with a view to sufficient evidence being gathered to make a decision on Monday evening as to whether racing can return on Wednesday. We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding that as much evidence as possible must be gathered prior to making a decision as to when racing can safely return.

"Should racing be given the go ahead to return on Wednesday then declarations for all races would take place on Tuesday."

The bombshell – announced at 9.30pm on Saturday after all Sunday newspapers had published their first edition followed three years of defending the ailing currency."

I'd just learned my readin' ritin' an' 'rithmetic an' was allowed to stay up late 'cos it wasn't a skool night and I had a paper round. I was dreaming of making £1 a week an' they go devalue it before I can even get it!  :ugeek:
We need a cynical emoji.

The British Horseracing Authority (BHA) will make a decision later tonight as to whether racing can return in Britain on Wednesday. This decision will be made following a meeting of the industry veterinary committee. The decision will follow further assessment of the data already gathered as well as the results of the latest testing which is taking place at the Animal health Trust (AHT) today. To allow the committee to have access to the most recent evidence, it will not meet until this evening. This means that no decision should be expected before 10:30pm at the earliest.

The bold highlighting is theirs. Just pure coincidence.

There was a vet on morning TV that pointed out that stables have to deal with various forms of equine flu. It's always around in some form or other, even with those that are vaccinated against it. Viruses and bugs are a way of life, Philip Hobbs @ Sandhill is a fair example.

If they found a virus like that one, racing would never resume!

This statement was released on the 18th January, BHA are doing excellent work imo - far better than Ireland who look like they couldn't give a crap

Paddy Power pulled the specials market, but that could just be a bit of book management.
