Very sad we lost Sir Erec, especially after the focus on him before the race, but it's part of the game.

He lived a wonderful life for an animal and in a way died a glorious death in battle.

Far calmer and more (normal) markets this afternoon

Yeah, they have been perfect for being a bit more aggressive with staking. This happened last year as well. Not as wild markets as we saw earlier on, but the Friday really performed in a much calmer manner.

Despite having lower expectations I found the penultimate market to be really dull

Good day today but not a memorable festival for me. Nevermind, flat season ahead!

In terms of number of profitable markets, I've beat last years total regardless of what happens in the last but would be nice to finish with a win and end up on 27/28 for the festival.

Profit-wise I'll also be up on last year but not checked the actual amounts yet

Best day for me - I always seem to do well on the last day, even thoughI had to miss the first race for family commitments. A pretty rubbish Chelt though and apart from today, I didnt really enjoy trading it for the first time in years.

As a former punter and racing enthusiast, it's hard to drop the excitement and anticipation of the Cheltenham Festival, even though it's not so applicable to trading.

Fitting end to the festival for me to get nice green on the fav 'Dallas Des Pictons'

Thought it been an interesting festival and quite an up and down one overall.

Markets have gone from some 'normal' ones to a few lifeless ones earlier in the week, then we had those few crazy ones yesterday and then rounded the day off with what I'd say where near perfect one's especially the Gold cup itself.

The only dampener was, of course, the unfortunate incident in today's opener

"It’s not, therefore, unreasonable to stop racing at Cheltenham in order to save horses’ lives. If Santa Anita Racecourse can do this after a spate of deaths, then so can Cheltenham.

"The spotlight is now on the Racecourse and the British Horseracing Authority to act with immediate effect."
   I'm sure the BHA will carefully consider it.

A few slip ups from me over day 3/4 but lessons learned.
Humorous to realise it'll be a year before being able to put adjustments in place.
