The discrepancy between those yank live shows and what the exchange is showing is often bizarre, shortly before off 23.37 Lone Star Park Ruxin was 6/5 on live show and being traded over 6 on exchange. Ruxin also won
I think the live shows are place pools and in weak markets will change drastically.

I tried to go to school on google about those live shows and gave up looking. The cupboard is bare :(

Sorry, I didn't mean place pools but tote pools. Some horses are labelled as running for purse which means not a single bet has been placed on it on course. So the tote pools must be extremely weak.

Why is there such poor volume with some of these French races? It makes it impossible for me to trade but the quality of the races and courses seem good, I don't get it?

Not sure, but I think in France you can only bet on the Pari-Mutuel. The French group ones are quite good though.

Runner can be displayed odds 9 right at the start and end up paying out 5.

Not sure if the 8 race cards already include races divided into 2 divisions. If they don’t, and they decide to split the 2yo races for example, we could get bumper 10-12 race cards.

If that does become the case then with 2/3 meetings per day, the number of races won’t be that far different from a normal summer schedule. Though 2 or 3 eight race cards per day would suit me just fine at present.

Schedule looks quite good until end of August. Either two day meeting and an evening, or one daytime and two night, with all the summer festivals in their usual slots.

Really looking forward to it now, most of the work in the garden is done, I’ve had my fair share of pottering around the house, and I dont want to read or watch any more news or opinion until after Xmas!

I know what you mean. I've been running a few of my automations on French markets to dust them off in anticipation of the UK resumption next week. Fortunately I'm only trying to extract pence.

Plenty of Swedish racing today; what's the liquidity like there?

Incidentally was there something untoward about the market for the first race (1447) at Pau yesterday?

Betting on French racing is via the PMU which is a state-owned monopoly. Very weak betting markets.
