In answer to the reply posting dealing in 2016 I started with $1000 on Jan 1 and by Dec 3 ( I do have holidays) it was $12,456, In 2017 starting with $1500 to end of year amount was $18,506, This year starting with $2000 my current balance is $8277. Making 1.117% on 2000 is about $25.00 so is easy to get bets layed but as my balance increase it become harders to get the bets layed. This is the only problem I am facing. Yesterday 26/4 Australian had potentially 21 races for me to lay, however I only had one lay, profit (after commission ) $64.42, not sufficient to meet my aim. Will need to do better on Saturday.

I didn't say you can't succeed laying. Success is possible laying, backing or trading.

Disappointing day at Caulfield, hardly worth staying up for.

You are heading out of the busy period in Australia now. Less major group racing now till our Autumn.

Thanks Peter. I've been trading Australia for less than a year so I'm not familiar with the seasonal variations in the markets. Perhaps now I can get a bit more sleep. :)

I tend to start up in September peaking in November then tailing off later that month, then it returns full force in February before tailing off again around this time of the year. Proper periods of sleep start up again in May for us in UK.

Indeed. Today's major NSW meeting wasn't even at a Sydney Metropolitan track.

Never traded Warrnambool before but it looks pretty good. Good liquidity as well, £150K on the last race.

They use starting stalls for NH races in Australia as well!

Liquidity is seriously picking up over there.

Just hope the new tax next year doesn't put it back another 10 years
