Australian racing
I stopped logging my turnover ages ago but looking back on old records I've found a week when I was only just over $6K, there may even be weeks when I was under it so it may not be all doom and gloom.Derek27 wrote: ↑Tue May 26, 2020 12:34 pmThanks, looks like we're completely buggered. I've pencilled in Canterbury, Bathurst and a grand finale at Rosehill.gazuty wrote: ↑Tue May 26, 2020 4:28 amBetfair updating its rules for NSW on 1 June - https://www.betfair.com.au/hub/turnover-charge/

Yes I have had recent success with trading on horse racing in AUS markets but sadly the liquidity has been relatively low.
I'd suggest looking at trading on German and Swedish horse racing too if that works around your time zone. Decent returns with scalping.

UK markets are too efficient most of the time which makes profitable trading very hard. Have you been using the BetAngel tool to help with trades, but again it's hard to scalp this market. I'd rather just scrape 10-15% most evenings in other markets and keep my stakes low (around £30)switesh wrote: ↑Sat Aug 03, 2013 12:23 pmThanks PeterLe.
Aus racing has been kindly positive and net profitable almost every time I've traded it so far, and I'm grateful for that.
But I'm struggling a lot to get my performance in UK racing on the green side. I've actively traded about 5000 UK races since Jan (and a lot more last year) and can barely keep my bank on the green side.
I'm trying to fix my strike rate which is rather poor averaging around 50%. My Entry points are rusty and I'm trying all I can to repair it with what tools I have.
Got the email. Isn't it wonderful to know that, like PC, only a small number of people have to pay the charge, and I'm just unlucky enough to be one of them?
No doubt when I hand over the money for my shed I'll be told: "Hey, don't worry, only a small number of people have to pay for a shed - the people who wish to purchase a shed"!!

Fook!! I didn't realise how little an Aussie dollar is. Better keep a close eye on this - I'm keeping a £3K limit to be safe.
I had the turnover charge at 1.2% on an old spreadsheet so it appears to have doubled to 2.4%.You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

But only where your commission generated is <1.25% of your back bets. That might give you some wiggle room. That rule is a new one on me and didn't know it used to be 1.5%. I generate quite a lot of commission so I might have been able to trade nsw when I'd been avoiding them.
That's commission generated on NSW markets only.ShaunWhite wrote: ↑Tue May 26, 2020 7:16 pmBut only where your commission generated is <1.25% of your back bets. That might give you some wiggle room. If you place £5K of back bets you would have to win at least £1250 to generate £62.50 commission (only half the commission paid counts as generated commission). That rule is really there to protect punters, who win or lose will pay a lot of commission.

They problem Derek is that you're too consistant. Instead of steadily grinding your way to a couple of hundered you need to win 1250 and lose 1050.
Yep, the dreaded email. That time when you think, "shizer wish I didn't get a personalised email because I feel like I've got a target painted on me".Derek27 wrote: ↑Tue May 26, 2020 5:25 pmGot the email. Just a heads up, Sky doesn't appear to be geoblocked at present (tested it from my VPN from a number of countries including the UK and it worked)
Sky 1 - https://skylivetab-i.akamaihd.net/hls/l ... 69779.m3u8
Sky 2 - https://skylivetab-i.akamaihd.net/hls/l ... 69779.m3u8
Be aware that it's about 15 seconds delayed (actually just double checked and it's close to 20 seconds through a VPN), but it covers every Aus and NZ throroughbred, harness and greyhound race on the exchange.
