I think its definately a trend in these races, favs get over-bet, as there are no 'real' layers left.

Nice pics Mr Webb, well done.

My first trade of this years Cup was a back bet on Almandin at 10's. Had a triple figure green at one stage before getting wiped out by the move.

How does that result compare to previous Cups Peter. A record?

No, miles short. I don't think I got my management right really. I could have got a lot more but didn't quite get it right.

If you didn't quite get it right it makes your profit on the cup even more impressive.

I faired better on the more volatile supporting races.

I usually get a good feel for a meeting on any one day but didn't feel it yesterday so was less confident going into the big race. If I had more confidence I would have hit it harder. It just felt like a left a lot on the table and wasted quite a few trades. Such is life!

The Melbourne cup may be over but there's still some great markets at Flemington. I can almost feel the sun shining. :D

Sad scenes at Northam, worker putting divits back in been hit by lightning, currently being given CPR.

Lets hope he/she pulls through!!
