Just as well I closed for a loss before the off. There seemed to be an endless pot of money on Gitan, 4.9 at the off, BSP 4.3!

Doing well at the metro meetings, not getting on with the other ones

20 runner race at Flemington and a horse plays up in the stalls and has to be vetted and still off within 2 minutes of the official off time.

Newbury in the UK yesterday, 10 runner race and no horses playing up off 10 minutes late.

Most Australian races seem to be off within 2 minutes if not 1 minute of the official off time despite larger fields than in the UK. I wish UK presenters would stop constantly saying the UK have the best stalls handlers in the world, they don't. They often don't even bother to start loading until after the off time preferring a chat.

The French are even worse than us. Not only are their races off late but they don't seem to make any effort to catch up.

It has been tough going away from the main tracks today. Still time yet though.

If it hadn't been for Randwick today would have been very disappointing.

Not quite as good as last week but I'm happy enough.
