One of the biggest bets I ever had was in the geelong cup. It was 33/1, was 5 lengths in front, and got beaten by a half head or something. I was on it each way, and won 4 figures, but it still hurts. I can't remember the name, but I can't remember who won the caulfield cup this week.
The fact that you won a 4 figure sum just for the place means it would have been a life changing sum of money had it won.Anbell wrote: ↑Tue Oct 20, 2020 9:51 amOne of the biggest bets I ever had was in the geelong cup. Quite common for everything but the main meetings to "fall away". When I checked in on the automation results, Geelong volume looked to be very strong, but Randwick (Kensington) was less impressive than a typical midweek event.
Warning to newbies reading this banter, side meetings on Melbourne Cup Day are generally to be avoided unless you are a small markets specialist.
Yes I just had a look on this thread last year and the races are just so close together that the others just don't trade well (cup day and Oaks day)gazuty wrote: ↑Wed Oct 21, 2020 10:59 amQuite common for everything but the main meetings to "fall away".
