Hi all - long time!!

Just thought I'd say hi as I've been really busy with work over the summer and haven't had much time to reply to messages. Suffice to say my 'ol faithful is still chugging away stealing pennies for me, though always for low stakes.

I do have a question please for Dallas or Peter or anyone else that knows - are Betfair still charging for going over 1000 transactions in any given hour? Also how to attach images now?

Cheers

Is that bot for backing the likely winner?

Cheers. And no, it's an 'under the radar' pre-off scalp bot, sadly not very scalable, despite my best efforts!

I’ve created a very similar rule to back a horse @1.02 but I want to make it so the bet is placed at 1.02 no higher or lower. Do I need to add any further conditions

Placing it @ 1.02 will ensure you back no lower but Betfair will always match at the best price
So after its triggered and placed at 1.02 if the price drifts out you will get matched higher.

Thanks Dallas. So there is nothing else to add to the rule to cap that higher matched bet if it does drift out?

Your effectivly asking for your money back if it drifts after you place the bet,

ie, price trades at 1.03 and triggers your bet to place at 1.02 during the 1 second in-play delay price drifts right out to 2.7 and thats what you get matched at.
If you got matched at 1.02 it would still of drifted in the same way except by getting matched at a higher price if it comes back and wins you will win more

You're trying to respond to millisecond moments. Think about what's actually happening step by step, how could it be done?Besides you'll need the odd one that matches at bigger than 1.02 and wins to make up for all those that match at 1.02 and lose.

Depends on the odds its placed at and how fast the price is coming in.

There are no definitive answers to your questions about matching in play. If you want to back a horse you need to find people who are prepared to lay it. Would you lay what looks like a certain winner?

Hi Dallas

If I wanted to back a selection at for example 1.7 but only if the rest of the field were trading above say 4.00 how would be the best way to go about this?

Cheers

The odds you back at are set on the parameters tab (currently 1.20), and the odds the bet is triggered at is set on the fixed odds conditions tab (currently 1.35)

Then add a another fixed odds condition
Selection; Nominated By Betfair Price (in order of favourtism) 2
Back price is
Greater than 4.0

ie, your saying the price of 2nd fav is greater than 4.0, therefore all other runners will be even higher

Hi Dallas

Just a thought, will using the fixed odds condition for the 2nd fav trading above a certain price still work if I have used the "Fix the order position" at the start of the race?
