This is a basic Guardian automation bot for use on Horse Racing markets in particular the flat races that use stalls.

The bot looks at the runners in the first three Betfair rows providing they have an actual SP of less than 9.0, then after the off any that have immediately drifted 10 or more ticks above there SP will be layed using a 10sec fill or kill for a £10 fixed liability.

The lay trigger has been set for between 6 and 11 seconds after the start just to try and avoid any initial market over reaction or people closing pre-race trades a little late, If the lay is matched it is offset by 25 ticks with greening.

To use the file just click on the Lay the Poor Starter.Baf attachment link below and this will download it to your computer, then with guardian open on the "Automation" tab click "Import a Rules File" as shown in the image, once imported it will now appear in the drop down box just above, you can now apply it to any markets you have added into guardian.

The stake size as with all other aspects of this file can also be edited very easily by clicking on "Edit Rules File" then click on the "General, Parameters & Conditions" tab and change to whatever you require.

Additional parts/conditions can also be added or removed from the bot as you build it into your own bespoke automation file.

With any automation bot always run in practice mode first to ensure everything is working fine, and repeat this each time you make any changes

Hi Dallas,

This bot looks really interesting and just what i was looking for for a theory I had pretty similar to this eventuality - the only problem is when i try to import the rule file to have a look at the automations it says it was created with an older version of BetAngel so cannot import or run it?

Any help with that would be great - thanks

I was wondering in relation to this idea. Is it possible to place an unmatched bet at say a lay price of twenty on a horse trading say at a back price less than ten before the market is inplay and then keep the bet once the race starts?

I've tried to do this on automation but it keeps just matching my bet at the horses current price.

Have you don it via the rules editor on the parameters tab, and not by the main global settings area at the top of your screen?

In guardian click the 'Edit Rules File' then go to the parameters tab and select it from the global settings there

Hello my fellow Automation Crew!
I have been 'live testing' this bot which I will attach. It has been working well. It is based on the lay the poor starter.
So, first 3 rows on this automation on rows 2,3,4. The Bot will look in the 2,3,4 rows which have a sarting price below 12, then inPlay from 6secs-18secs anything that moves OUT by 7 ticks it will Lay a 'by Liability' for £15.
It does this fine. As you can see if you open the file!!
I have put in some safety nets based on my knowledge, on greening out at certain times from 5F - 2.0M. Which it does.

Small profits but generally working.
Sometimes it does this!

What I am basically saying is, I feel Im nearly there but need to tighten the ship up and stop those silly 'reds' coming in.
I know there are other more experience 'automation crews' out there which might be able to help. Im slightly new so be gentle on me!!

With you posting the log has it been mis-firing / not working as you expected or are you just looking for general advice on parameters/conditions to add to it?
