This is a basic Guardian automation rule which for use on in-running Horse Racing Markets.

The bot will monitor who is the favourite during the race and if the favourite changes to a 3rd horse during a 20 second period a back bet of £10 will be placed.

It works by setting a signal value on the market which increases in increments each time a new horse becomes the favourite during the race, if the signal value has not increased within 20 secs all values are reset and the process begins again. If the increment value of the signal reaches 3 (meaning the favourite has changed for a 3rd time within 20secs) then a back bet is placed on this horse.

To use the file just click on the Changing Favourites.Baf attachment link below and this will download it to your computer, then with guardian open on the "Automation" tab click "Import a Rules File" as shown in the image, once imported it will now appear in the drop down box just above, you can now apply it to any markets you have added into guardian.

Once you have it imported into your Guardian the stake size along with any other aspects of this file can be edited very easily by clicking on "Edit Rules File"

With any automation bot always run in practice mode first to ensure everything is working fine, and repeat this each time you make any changes.

TIP

If you wish to change and edit the timing used for this rule after importing into your Guardian click on ‘Edit rules’ and select the rule type ‘Reset Signals’ then click the ‘conditions’ tab and select the top condition’ from the left side column and change the number of seconds from 20 to whatever you want to use.

Don’t forget you can simply change the rule type from ‘Place a Lay bet’ to ‘Play Sound Alert’ if you would rather just be notified that a big mover has now levelled off leaving you to make the final decision on whether to open a trade.

It doesn't back the 3rd fav, it backs the fav if a 3rd horse becomes fav within 20secs

id like a baf file for if the favourite was say 2.50 before the race start and as the race progressed it drifted out to say 4.0 and some other runners below it their priced dropped below the favourites in running price and then the fav could possibly be layed odds permitting..and if at least 1 to 2 other runners were below the original favourites in running price thanks

Hello Dallas,
just a wee question regarding the "Reset Signals" rule - this may be stating the obvious but Am I right in thinking that as this rule type is to "clear all signals for market and selections" it will ignore the instructions under the "Signal" tab.
Because the Signal tab still has instructions in it (in the same manor as the "Signal Current fav" rule) which :
Increment the fav parameter for the market &
Set the fav parameter for the selection to 1

Obviously neither instruction setting the fav paramerter to zero so neither instruction resetting the automation. Hopefully you can see what I mean.
Thanks

Thats actually a good spot thanks, they shouldn't be there and does mean once the reset triggers the favs only need to swap twice next time.
Its safe to just remove them so no signals are set with the reset rule
