If you have the ladder screen open you can see exactly where your bets are and if more money jumps in front, you could then drag your bet down to a lower price to get it matched if you want

Hi there. Quick question for Dallas. If I add a fill or kill option to this bot to clear the bet if the odds don't shorten enough to get the lay taken, am I right in thinking that I would have to give it a delay of somewhere around 240 to allow time for the race to start and the odds to develop in-running? Thanks.

The fill/kill only applies to the opening part of the bet not the offset, once the offset lay is placed if you wanted to cancel after a specific time if still unmatched you would need to add a 'green up' rule or similar to do it.

Hi All, I now understand a lot more about how the automation rules work but I'm a bit confused about the LOG file. I ran the Free Bet on Favourite rule on three races this afternoon and they all worked fine. Looking in Betfair Profit and Loss Record I can see that I have either won or lost nothing. Just as it should be. But if I look at the automation Log file I can see that it places the initial back bet, and that it gets taken. However the lay bet is logged as having been put into the market and been totally unmatched, There are no further log entries about this lay bet having been matched later - but it must have been, Why does the log file not show this? Any ideas?

The log only records bets as they reach the market, if they are not matched until a later time this wont be shown in the log and you need to refer to your matched bets history for this

Hi

I placed a back bet at the start of 6f class 4 Maiden Stakes (Plus 10) race at 14:30 today and I have offset to lay by 1 tick down the odds, but it never matched.

Has that ever happened to anyone?

I'm not entirely sure of your question? If you are asking whether a fav will drift out without a single tick of steaming? then yes this happens alot in maiden, novice, claimers and sellers. Just out of interest what made you pick a Maiden Stakes race? and this was in practice mode right?

If my thinking is correct I have thought of a No Lose Bet. Firstly you can LAY the draw on the Villa game tomorrow @3.2 with a stake of £100 which leaves a liability of £220. Then if you BACK the draw with another bookmaker (in this case Sky bet) @3.20 with a stake of £69 which leaves a return of £220 which covers the LAY the draw liability.
So if the lay the draw bet wins you win £100 minus the £69 draw bet which leaves £31 profit.
If the back the draw bet wins you win £220 which covers the losing lay the draw liabily leaving zero profit.
So in this example the only profit will be the £31 from the lay bet because should the back bet win the returns are used to cover the liability fron the lay bet.

Please let me know if im missing something

£220 from the back bet is your total return including stake, your profit is only £152

You would need to back for £100 to achieve £220 profit and effectively scratch your lay bet and make £0 no matter what the result (but lose a bit in commission if the lay bet wins).
