These prediction sites are useful in the quest for value. You have to adjust to allow for any team news, injuries or suspensions to key players.

I don't rate victor at all as the thinking behind it is a bit flawed and hasn't historically performed well, but this is very good: -

Victor is not always accurate but they got it right tonight in assessing Everton as the value bet of the evening.

Hi Everyone

I think this site will help people to reflect on their own ability to estimate risk

http://www.projectionpoint.com/index.php

The site is run by Dr Dylan Evans a behavioural scientist at University College Cork has found that professional gamblers have scored quite highly. However he also said that it remains to be seen if its learned or intrinsic behaviour.

With this in mind I was slightly dissapointed with a distinctly average mark of 69.

Thanks for that David,
I just took the test & scored 75

It's interesting to read the theory behind it & see from the graph if you are more likely to overestimate or underestimate your ability.

Looks like I am overconfident

For in-play stats on premiership games ESPN have Gamecast which tracks the SOT's, corners and everything else. It's very useful

Another Predictor site:

'Castrol FIFA World Cup Predictor' is supposed to measure team and player performance based on every international match in the last 10 years. Also features the Castrol Index with individual players rated.

If you ask me all these fancy stats aren't neccessery, every world cup you can rake in the profits simply by laying England  Seriously though, its always hard to go past the South American teams, you'd have to think that with the cup being held outside Europe its very likely to go back to South America, and Brazil and Argentina are currently at good oods.
