Stoke Manager betting just got interesting, O'Neill has rejected the job along with Flores, so that's 2 previous favs out of the picture!

Same here, thought it was going to be a bit of a damp squib but with O'Neill out of the picture, it looks a lot more interesting.

Lambert now available and getting backed

Club spends a lot of money and give their managers time (e.g. Hughes) so weird not more managers want this job.

Yeah you'd think a club that averages about 12th in the table of the highest paid league in the world, would attract some higher calibre candidates.

I was hoping O'Neill would take it to get him out of the Ireland picture. Whatever talk about him not taking it because of a verbal agreement with the FAI, I think if Stoke were 10 points better off and far from a relegation battle, he'd have jumped at it to get back to weekly football.

Even Tim Sherwood didn't big himself up for this one :D - we saw the same at Everton where big(ger) managers were approached and none of them wanted to know so the club makes do with a third rate manager who they will get rid of either if the club is saved from relegation or gets the drop

Not exactly top of the list when Stoke were looking. Curious appointment.

Stoke actually have an easier run of matches coming up, so may see a bounce in the short term.

New manager effect, or return to the mean as it's otherwise known.

From a trading perspective, I do dislike a change in manager. Makes the team's behaviour suddenly much less predictable/uncertain. Stoke were a great team to trade also, we all could have done with Hughes staying on.
