Hey Guys,
Many thanks for such a really informative thread, I tried as has been suggested scalping for a few points and decided not such a good idea. Although when it went in my favour I though I was on to a good thing.
The point about researching the market and understanding the strategy you are trying to employ is well made. Putting money in the market and reading the manual to see what to do next is not such a good idea.
However backing Murray to win the Aussie Open before the start and laying him on the eve of the final had me jumping about. He will win one day but if can just flatter to deceive a little longer "Kaching $£$£!!!!!
Again a really good insight into the inplay trading; It makes you wonder is this the same thing thats going on at the footie and everything else that's live.
It made me think about the to poor Chinese kids who were murdered not so long back (god rest em) was'nt that somthing to do with live backing/laying from the match. Scarey S**t
Cheers

You don't need to sit at courtside with a laptop or other mobile device to make very good money from tennis. If you're scalping, there are plenty of opportunities to nick one, two or several ticks at times, during breaks in play --- every two games, between sets and during injury breaks. Or,if you're a fan, there are great opportunities to swing trade. To anyone who has a good knowledge of the game, there are times when odds are obviously out of kilter and you can quickly make big profits. There was a perfect example in today's match between Troicki and Monaco. Troicki won the first set 6-1 and Monaco was playing like a drain. Troicki was trading at 1.26, but Monaco is still an accomplished player, especially on clay, and it was highly unlikely that the Argentine was going to roll over and die. A lay with a relatively low downside was the obvious call; within ten minutes Monaco was 3-1 up in the second set and Troicki was trading above 2.0.
Of course, you have to be prepared to accept losses sometimes using this kind of approach, so make sure your downside is well inside your comfort zone.
And as Nero pointed out, be careful if there's any indication that a trainer is likely to be called to a player. The odds will drift horribly when this happens and you don't want to be on the wrong side of a move like that. If you're watching on commercial tv, it's a good idea to have the match on your computer screen too (via Bet365 or Betfair) as they don't disappear off to commercial breaks during the changeovers.
Hope that helps.

Hi Guys,
Im new to this forum and am looking for a highly successful one on one trading coach to get me going on trading tennis on betfair using betangel.
Im a former player and currently coach - I know the game, surfaces and the players pretty well but I do not know what to do from a trading perspective and looking for a trading coach.
Anyone know how and where to find one?

hi guys, I have a few questions about tennis trading and thought I would ask here rather than start a new thread.
I have been trying to lay at lowish odds as mentioned in this thread as when I get involved laying odds above 1.3 it normally ends in disaster.
My problem is I don't know when to exit my trade, sometimes I might think my position is not good so I would take a loss or small green, just to see the market drift right out, often it seems I am cutting my profits short and letting my losses run which is complete opposite of what I need to be doing.
Another thing would be in a match which has been swinging back and forth several times, but almost as soon as I enter the market its all one way traffic not in my favour.
So my questions are,
How do you know when to exit?
do you plan your exit when you enter the market?
do you have an amount of profit or number of ticks you are happy to green up at?
does it depend on how you think the match is going? this is how I'm trying it at the moment but I consistently wrong in my decisions.
thanks

Hello everyone. First time poster, so please be gentle!
I was just wondering if there's any decent websites that would give me a ball-by-ball account of what I'm betting on? I was told that Interwetten did have this service on their site, but can't find it.
Thought it might help me have more of a chance to see a potential exit point rather than using TV that can have a slight delay.......
Cheers

For a good example of this have a look at the current Monfils match

So, whoever wants to learn something about trading tennis, should watch Monte Carlo now..
The raw feeds are 6 seconds behind the big money. Probably TV broadcast is 10-12 seconds behind at least..
Literally, the orders which come with the button press of the Umpire is printing money.. It is a shame on ATP and whoever involved in this because it`s not a fair game
