We've uploaded two forum styles for you to use.

If you wish to switch to something that 'looks' similar to the old forum: -

Visit the user control panel: -

https://www.betangel.com/forum/ucp.php?i=165

And select 'prosilver' in 'myboardstyle'

If you navigate indirectly to the user control panel you can select the alternative forums under the 'User control panel' / 'Board preferences' section.

The 'new' style is called 'Milk v2'

prosilver better - shows more detail - quite a few forums use that look :)

The prosilver style is very nice. I like the colors (even though I'm color blind, or maybe because :-) ). I think what could improve it even more is having the 'quick links' directly on the page. 'Active topics' is my most clicked link on this forum. For others I hear it is 'New posts'. No idea if this is something you can tweak, but it would certainly make a difference.

yeah, those items being exposed at the top level just makes everything so much more ergonomic. i did actually have another suggestion which i mentioned in another thread on this topic:

could i humbly request a small edit to the prosilver template which would both tackle duplication and save further space.

the link that says < Go to advanced search is superfluous as the little gear icon (highlighted in yellow) on the search box does the same thing. this would then reduce the header size by a further 30%. simply deleting the <p class="advanced-search-link">...</p> element would sort this out.

this would just make everything supertight and remove any duplication

None of us can see a 'Go to advanced search' link?

strange... here's what i'm seeing on chrome v55.0.2883.87

as mentioned above, removing (vie inspect) the <p class="advanced-search-link">...</p> element solves the issue without compromising the search bar functionality

[edit] - I think this anomaly will only be visible when you have navigated to New Posts or Active Topics

this is the actual html, which sits right below the <h2> element:

Code: Select all

<p class="advanced-search-link">
    <a class="arrow-left" href="./search.php" title="Advanced search">
        <i class="icon fa-angle-left fa-fw icon-black" aria-hidden="true"></i><span>Go to advanced search</span>
    </a>
</p>

btw, i added a late edit to this post that explains where the link anomaly can be found:
..... I think this anomaly will only be visible when you have navigated to New Posts or Active Topics
I've since gone thro the structure and determined that it affects any items that are referenced by the Quick Links menu also (potentially all point to the same template block [not sure how phpBB is structured]).
