I thought I'd start the thread in anticipation for Thursday's opening sessions
Always great entertainment, and if you haven't traded Darts before, then take a look, as the liquidity is tremendous and there are always some blinding In Play trades
I'll be posting various stuff during the event

If Wade goes out early, maybe a lay on the 9-darter might be a good trade

hope Phil has a good tournament seeing as this is the last time we will see the great man.
I suppose on this seasons form, Rob Cross and Daryl Gurney look interesting prices, especially Gurney who looks decent value at 44. These two are seeded to meet in Round 3, and are in MVG's half, but Van Gerwen might get a tougher match here than if he reaches the final
Thursday Matches
Steve Beaton v William O'Connor
World Ranking: 25 - 63
2017 Averages: 92.38 - 89.09
Head to Head: 4 - 3

2017 Averages: 91.60 - 93.81
Head to Head: 0 - 0
Ally Pally Appearances: 1 - 0
Best Performance: 1st Round - NA
Current Prices: 2.10 - 1.89
Michael van Gerwen v Christian Kist
World Ranking: 1 - 35
2017 Averages: 102.98 - 88.01
Head to Head: 2 - 1
Ally Pally Appearances: 10 - 3
Best Performance: Winner 2014, 2017 - 2nd Round
Current Prices: 1.01 - 55
* Kist BDO Champion 2012
Gerwyn Price v Ted Evetts
World Ranking: 16 - 76
2017 Averages: 92.24 - 91.32
Head to Head: 0 - 0
Ally Pally Appearances: 3 - 0
Best Performance: 1st Round - NA
Current Prices: 1.44 - 3.25
Christian Kist is a massive price considering he's a former winner of the BDO and he's beaten MVG before. Every player is nervous 1st Round, so there isn't much to lose in having a cheeky lay on MVG
Ted Evetts is a youngster, only 20 and highly regarded. Gerwyn Price has never won a match at the Ally Pally, so he could be worth opposing
James Wilson is an interesting odds against price, considering he's ranked higher than his ooponent, and is more experienced on the bigger stage
I have shedloads of Darts stats - if anyone likes them, I can do them for the tournament!

Being of a certain age too, when you mentioned the Bronzed Adonis I immediately pictured John Cooper Clarke at the oche (saw him last month, still funny).

World Ranking: Cross 20

Rob Cross has had an amazing year, reflected in his price of 17.00 to win the event, even though it's his debut. It's impossible to gauge his opponents until we see their prelim match
Bunting's match could go either way, but Taylor's match could be interesting. Every match from here on in could be his last, so he's bound to be nervous. Chris Dobey looked impressive here last year, so I wouldn't rule him out of causing an upset

Thank you for taking the time and effort to post these stats - as someone who hasn't traded darts before, they're very helpful.
Do you have a 'go to' site where you get your stats from?
