Welcome any thoughts!
Betfair Volume Analysis 2017
It's been doing that for as long as I can remember. I think it's an issue for Betfair longer term. Because do you just end up with loads of penny-pinching HFT bots that add no value to the market? You would imagine transaction charges would be introduced for volumes over certain levels eventually to drive revenue as there can be little or none at lower levels.

A big thanks Linus.
Politics hitting £400m matched last year! Most previously was around £47m but we did have the Trump and Brexit double to deal with.
Please correct me if I've miscalculated but changes in the big trading sports v 2015 were...
Cricket = Up from £9.5bn to £12.15bn
Soccer = Up from £16.14bn to £18.55bn
Horse Racing = Up from £12.36bn to £12.85bn
Tennis = Down from £10.18bn to £9.52bn
Other notable sports...
Greyhounds = Up from £600m to £1bn
Basketball = Down from £703m to £640m
Golf = Down from £327m to £321m
American Football = Down from £231m to £216m
Rugby Union = Down from £267m to £143m
Snooker = Up from £144m to £173m

Thanks for post the data, it's much appreciated.
I had a quick look this afternoon. Greyhounds looked odd. But if you split NI and PE the figures look very different so it seems the NI markets are contributing / distorting the figures.

Probably just a matter of time before they drop the BSP data files page too
No sadly not, I have been focusing on streaming data this year. It’s probably possible to continue the analysis by using the new steaming data but it will be a complete nightmare downloading / processing.
Ahhhh, that's so disappointing to hear. Was looking forward to an update Linus.LinusP wrote: ↑Mon Jan 01, 2018 10:19 amWanted to update this for 2017 but betfair have secretly dropped the old data page:

Think Peter mentioned previously that most sports have stayed stagnant apart from cricket but I really liked being able to see your figures in a spreadsheet.
Is there another way? Or is that the end of that?
Many thanks.
