How can I download and open Betfair data files?
Tried a few times but it looks like that the file comes empty, or maybe the tar format can not be properly unzipped?
Thanks for the help in advance.

Google "free tar file opener"
7-zip is a fairly reliable one

Have you tried the files linked in this thread? ... viewtopic.php?f=54&t=13157&hilit=data
yes but could not understand if they are good enoughShaunWhite wrote: ↑Tue Feb 27, 2018 4:05 pmHave you tried the files linked in this thread? ... viewtopic.php?f=54&t=13157&hilit=data
some responses indicated that it has data missing and so I decided to download myself

The data is as complete as you will find anywhere. There's almost 1 million runners in that data, if a few are missing it won't change much especially as anything you find in public data will be extremely hard to exploit going forward.cmuddle wrote: ↑Tue Feb 27, 2018 4:20 pmyes but could not understand if they are good enoughShaunWhite wrote: ↑Tue Feb 27, 2018 4:05 pmHave you tried the files linked in this thread? ... viewtopic.php?f=54&t=13157&hilit=data

2 winners. ie a dead heat. Where there's a 2 there's a second one on the same race.
