In a tennis match:
I would like to know if the following is possible to automate with BA:
1.I want BA to submit at lay bet at a fixed price say 1.20 for a fixed stake say 100 on Player A
2. I then when the lay bet has been fired want BA to place a back bet at a fixed price on Player A at say 1.40 for the same stake as the lay stake (100)
The idea is to create a free bet on this particular player. Now it is crucial that it is the lay bet that fires first but I do not know how to tell BA that
can it be done?

Yes its very straight forward to do.
Start with a lay bet rule type
then on the parameters tab under 'global settings' use 'offset bet' and enter 20 ticks
just below that tick fill/kill and enter 99999 for the number of seconds
and thats it, its the fill/kill that prevents the offset back bet being placed until your lay bet is filled
