Can't believe the last at Chepstow took place at 21:19, 14 minutes late. Must have been close to twilight.

One for the notebook I think. Literally sprinted the length of the home straight and stayed on for another two circuits.
Its the bloody horse I had setup to DOB.

Do I get a refund, it would have dobbed with no jockey ?

How much do owners, trainers and jockeys love the horses they own, train and ride or is it stuff the horse its all about the money, glory and next ride ?

I can't remember the horse or jockey but I did remember watching a ITV documentary about the grand national back in the 1990s where a jockey visited his ride the night before which was kind of rather moving.

He put his arms around his neck and said, if you can't make it around tomorrow then let me know and I will pull you up. The horse pushed him back against the stable door and made a very large noise.

The horse was leading and fell 2 fences from home and broke both front legs. Was put down on course.

My question is, if we break one or both legs then its fixable. I know a horses statue is different but why do they more than often put them down even if they break only 1 leg. Is it cost, won't heal or too much hassle etc ?

Two reasons. Firstly, relative to the weight of their body, horses have much lighter bones than us. They don't break, they shatter and are usually unrepairable.

Secondly, a human being with a broken leg can spend six months lying in a hospital bed watching TV. In fact, for some people I have known, it would be much the same as their usual life! You can't get a horse to spend weeks lying down and give it any sort of quality of life.

Mill Reef had a tremendously complexed operation to fix his broken leg, and some people might argue that he would have been put down if he was an ordinary horse, but you have to be realistic. When a horse is worth millions he is after all paying for his own operation.

Race every 5 minutes today, hopefully we don't have a repeat of the delayed starts of earlier in the week or it will mess the day up.

as a swing trader today is proving to be very tedious, no gaps so far to get in & with that nothing to get on

I just don’t understand why the BHA place races only 5 mins apart when it’s quite obvious it doesn’t work?, I mean it doesn’t really help anyone in the industry does it?

It is more of a scalping day today with such short gaps between races and so much on, there just isn't time for moves to develop.

Even for the day. I’d be well up if I just skipped York altogether...

Mixed results over here, have a lot on the plate and trying to balance it out.
