I’m gonna sound like a complete idiot now no doubt, but is there an edge in taking note of the SP when looking for a move?, gotta ask because I don’t know

I think he's just saying how far it drifted, nothing more.

I ask because there is a video from Peter briefly mentioning about taking SP into consideration when using market overview chart but never gave it much thought, hard work today but came out on top,

I’m at that stage now (I think) where it’s one day break even, one day small profit with the odd day losing so I am progressing, very slowly but am progressing

I can’t remember the last time I got on a steamer & it went through the floor, seems such a long time ago, probably because I tend to look for drifters now

The SPs aren't compiled until the race is off. If you're talking about the near/far price, as listed on the Betfair website, they generally move with the market. If a horse drifts, so will it's near/far prices.

Just to clarify I wasn't watching the projected SP nor did I get matched at SP, I was out around 1.57 about 30secs before the actual off

It did continue up to about 1.61-1.64 then it was a sharp spike straight to 1.82 as the SP was returned

Was this horse slowly away by any chance or reared in the gates? See plenty of occasions where this is the case as the market suspends when going in play so late it can skew SPs due to the fast picture mob involvement, away from racing this weekend so seen nothing. I think SP is a great safety mechanism for traders but plenty abnormalities, my mind boggles as to why any serious punter uses SP!

I often wonder whether the Betfair graphs include exchange money matched with BSP orders, because there's often a big move bang on the off. It can't be money traded just before or after the race starts because the market is suspended at the time.

TBH im not sure I knocked the video off as soon as I closed the trade, was only by chance I still had the ladder on a screen.
I do know it never traded below its pre-off 1.44 IR
