Hi,

Im thinking of building a betfair outage notification (sms and mail) service. I'm wondering how many would be find such a service useful? for say 1-2 pounds a month? Interested in your input.

I'll give you all of the money, £2. But I want 40% of the business. ;)

When Betfair goes down I'm usually the first to know about it.

But if you could design a notification service that informs us five minutes before Betfair goes down, I'm sure we'd all pay a lot more than £2 for it. ;)

In fairness, it might be useful to somebody who leaves his/her automation running all day while getting on with other things.

An SMS would be useful, If you are present Bet Angel can alert you if there are no updates for a few minutes.

you could also use a chrome add in to notify you of any changes to any page (betfair status being the one of interest here):

https://chrome.google.com/webstore/deta ... mfcd?hl=en

being a developer also, i always look for something off the shelf, for utilityware, and then if it falls short, pursue the obsesive development curve to add the additional missing 0.001% :D :geek:

[edit] - btw, there's a similar offering called distill that may offer slightly different functionality: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/deta ... dgge?hl=en

With a little thought one can add a few rules to an automation file to sound an alarm or even disable it if things aren't right - such as unchanged volume in x no of seconds
