This is a pretty stupid question I'm sure, but if I've set up Guardian to place a bet for me in the future (EG lay the draw 5 mins before event starts) and I then log out of Bet Angel, Betfair and turn my computer off, will it still place the bet?!?!?!?

No, you need to remain logged in with an active connection for Bet Angel to fetch market updates from Betfair and send the bet to them when its the right time and any conditions etc have been matched

When staying logged in, what issues are there with using too much data via Betfair? What are the limits you can ping back and forth via Bet Angel and Betfair before Betfair start to close / restrict log in times on your account?

There is none, the only thing to keep an eye on is your number of transactions

Thanks for that. I thought there was also some sort of data limit as well - I must be thinking of something else.
So the 1000 per hour count is just bets placed, not the amount of times BA talks to BF then? If want to set Guardian up to run a rule 30 times every 30 seconds, it's not a problem as it's only checking the market for a trigger rather than actually placing any bets?

There used to be a charge on the number of call to Betfair but this was scrapped several years ago when they introduced the API-NG, since then they've introduced streaming, this puts less load on their servers and allows you to refresh up to 50 times per second (20ms)

Each day I have multiple instances of BA running around retrieving markets info the clock, at peak times there will be refreshing up to several thousand markets at 20ms
