One of the greatest slow moving wave trades in the short history of bf.

Looks like Farage will lose which I'm gutted about (the Commons would have been a better and more entertaining place with him in it).

UKIP have done very well especially given the media coverage (got precious little apart from the negative stories).

Thankful Ed Miliband has lost and that we won't be having any socialists in charge for a long time.

Well done to Cameron.

The UK doesnt seems less united than ever today
It would be ironic if the Tories sowed the seeds of a break up in this election

Will be interesting to see how different this government may be this time without the Libdems supposedly 'moderating' them.

Tbh I thought the Tories were relatively restrained in a lot of the things that they did last time compared to what the left may have been fearing, so it will be interesting to see if they go full throttle on things from this point in.

The Labour campaign was terrible. In years to come we will look back on how for some time Ed Miliband was actually odds on to be prime minister

I just wish we can finally get the Scots kicked out of the UK.

I think there are going to be constitutional questions after this election

UKIP & LD got 20.4% of the vote and 9 seats
SNP got 4.8% of the vote and 56 seats

It's a sort of WTF moment

Beat me to it, laughable really.

The increasingly fractured nature of UK politics will probably mean more hung parliaments in the future with 'kingmakers' from the smaller parties. I hope this majority tory win, which I think will be the exception rather than the norm in future, wont sweep the need for change in this area under the carpet. People would have started (rightly in my opinion) to have got really fed up if we had have had another hung parliament this time again.

A good chance to put my 'Most Affable, Likeable Personality Wins' betting theory to the test ;)

I'll also be applying the theory to the US Election betting markets.

Remember: My theory is to bet on personalities, not policies, and look for the most affable and likeable candidate to win.

People seem to be focusing on how remarkable the Scottish result was, but in many ways so was the Welsh

In 1997 when the Tories were wiped out, they had no seats in Wales. And again in 2001

Last night they won 11 - Only once (1983) has the Tories won more than 11 seats in Wales

An extraordinary opposite of the Nationalistic feelings in Scotland

We can look forward to them privatising the NHS soon. People complain a lot about the NHS but if you have ever been ill in there or know someone who has the doctors and nurses are doing their best. Privatisation just turns illness into big business. The Tories obviously want to privatise it because a small number of people will get very rich out of it
wait until it costs you 10-20k if you break your leg, like in the States. Private health insurance companies making millions
Be careful what you wish for

NHS is so expensive so. I don't know what the answer is, but pumping in endless amounts of money probably isn't it.

Where do you draw that line. People are suing the NHS because they can't get a drug costing £100k a year, but that money could make a whole bunch of people's life so much better.
