Just been looking at the Betfair data found here
http://www.betfairpromo.com/betfairsp/prices/
to see if there was a way to condense the data into into an easier form for later interrogation.
I've created a spreadsheet that you can use to import the files (UK Win only), that collates the info and , over a period of time, will build a decent sized database that you might find useful. It lists all races in a condensed form using the event ID, runners, race type, betfair s/p for each runner and the book % over round.
The two files below (2 days racing) contains a total of 365 rows, which have been condensed into just 42 rows.
It has a checking system (based on the event Id) so you can't load the same data twice.
A quick word about the final over round.
If you look at the BSP you'll see a lot of 'odd' amounts ( 3.53, 11.19. 6.63 etc etc ) that do not appear on the ladder, so the the final figure can be used as a close approximation only.
Rather than go my own way and design something that most people might not use, if anyone has any ideas about how the info can be best used please post here ie, by track? race type etc,
