My point would be I know several people that attempted it and one sadly succeeded.Fugazi wrote: βTue Feb 27, 2024 10:13 pmJust discovered this (sadly locked) thread

Of those that survived - classical musician, mother and now grandmother, high level IT manager. All that could have been wasted, but they survived and moved on to greater things.
Not to be insensitive but that wasn't the topic of the original commentgreenmark wrote: βTue Feb 27, 2024 10:24 pmMy point would be I know several people that attempted it and one sadly succeeded.Fugazi wrote: βTue Feb 27, 2024 10:13 pmJust discovered this (sadly locked) thread

It was about stubbornness, not someone contemplating suicide. The person depicted dies, but it is not suicide. Of course it can be a very triggering subject [cliffs and someone jumping] where your mind will obviously make that association.
But nonetheless, not the topic of the thread though that has probably been derailed now.

That guy took the Martingale to a new level. As well as doubling up his stakes, when he blew a bank he'd double up his bank. But I think he was just paper trading. If not he would have lost 6-7 figures.Fugazi wrote: βTue Feb 27, 2024 10:13 pmJust discovered this (sadly locked) thread

Theres no way that guy didnt end up bankrupt. Unless he was trying the classic "send a different tip to each forum" type scam.Derek27 wrote: βTue Feb 27, 2024 10:34 pmThat guy took the Martingale to a new level. Oh how I remember those full moon theory's and how a drop in gravity caused jockeys to rise out there seats slightly near the finishing resulting in them pulling back on the reins and slowing the horse down
There truly has been some comedy gold over the years
Of course, this duo of identicals will get a shedload of comments but there is a concern; that one twin has a curly hat while the other has not. and bearing in mind the twin's antipodean interests - where curly brims are mandatory - the only way is to purchase some swinging corks....from me, in exchange for a year's subscription. But I love it.
