Volume of market and filling rate is very important.Euler wrote:£1.2m at the off on the Caulfied cup was nice to see this morning. But it was pretty stuff up with money.
Checking my stats for this one, I had approx $44k matched, making up about 2.5% of the market. I think that is just about as far out as I can push things myself. As can be seen up earlier in this thread, I had a bad outcome, and that was totally due to pushing out the boat too far. I tried to dominate the market, and push it around, but the market won.

Here's the pre-off Volume stats from my spreadsheet. Caulfield Cup is about $1.7m (AUD).
I didn't realize UK traders saw the same market denominated in GBP. I was under the impression that traders from both sides of the pond were looking at the same numbers irrespective of the currency.

Gaz, Naffman, Jmcole - you guys trading the Geelong Cup tomorrow?
I'm really keen on giving it a bash. Hope we have some good liquidity across the entire card at Geel tomorrow.

Don't know yet, not quite sure if the liquidity will be that good bar the Geelong Classic and Cup. Might just have the day off and wait for MValley on Saturday. Would you happen to have a video of scalping the Caulfield markets last Saturday Switesh, as I can swing trade, but I can't scalp...pretty one dimensional hey.
I will be taking a look at the Geelong races. I have found previous years to be surprisingly good and have returned some good results for this day. I can't remember much about liquidity for past years, but the number of runners this year (67 for 9 races) is about half that of previous years. Also some of the big punters may be wary of betting as the track is heavy and it is the first time it has been used in 12 months after undergoing works.
