Differences in Chart Volumes?

We were all new to Bet Angel once. Ask any question you like here and fellow forum members promise not to laugh. Betfair trading made simple.

I was wondering why the two charts below show different totals for the same large order that went through the market.

The candlestick chart shows an amount of £63k, the price/volume chart just over £30k (about half of what the candlestick records)

I guess it is because of 5sec and 10sec refresh interval

possibly, but if that was the case shouldn't the chart with the smaller refresh rate show a smaller amount, not the other way around?

We don't how Betfair calculate the volume on their chart but on our charts we make the volume by subtracting the current volume from the volume reported on the prior refresh. It looks like Betfair are simply taking actual money staked, rather than volume reported. Matched bet volume is double the nominal trade value.
