Sceptical
In my opinion posting P&Ls is promoting the exchange, no harm in it whatsoever unless you're doctoring them and only one person I've had that feeling about on here.

A few 3 month PLs or better still annual ones would say more, if you're trying to prove something to other people or about yourself. Anyone can make £300 in a day, it's turning that into 27k in 90 days or 100k a year that's tricky.

If someone wants to do that they can. (Be the same as Warren Buffet posting his bank account balance without giving an insight into how he got there)ShaunWhite wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2020 10:41 pmA few 3 month PLs or better still annual ones would say more, if you're trying to prove something to other people or about yourself. For me personally, I don't feel the need for validation. (£5k month is a more realistic target - including losses)
Many of the posts I've made over time, include workable strategies shared with the forum, in return, others have shared their findings too. I've found the same in other forums I've been on. There was one run by a guy called Fazzy (UkBettingtips) that went through a period of .pdf sharing (free) of all the latest systems and ideas. It doesn't operate now as he upset some members with the way he wanted to go forward with the site.
It's good to be sceptical, in a positive way. The late Steve Jobs was. It made him challenge assumptions about computers and human behaviour that were previously based on "reliable" facts. He tested assumptions which in turn, led to greater understanding, innovation and creativity......
Sheeeesh, that sounds eerily familiar....

Worm (rounders) sums it up fairly well. (including later on "women are the rake")

I did that a year or two ago, just to prove how easy it is to edit HTML text!
But if people think that Betfair charges 20-60% premium charge just to pretend people are winning that is beyond scepticism. That's sheer paranoia.
People seem to believe what they want.
When I held the meet and greet at our offices, on the wall is all the evidence you need to see what I've achieved over the years. Somebody did a write up of the visit and mentioned a letter from Betfair that was also on the wall. He got heavily attacked and called a faker etc. etc.
But he had seen it all and the offices, and yet somehow, it wasn't real. Just crazy.
I think it would great though if Betfair did validate lifetime P&L's because then some would have to explain why they have been posting P&L's and positioning themselves as full-timers, yet their lifetime shows a completely different picture. It would be hilarious.
Never going to happen though, as it would show that Betfair themselves were complicit in promoting and marketing individuals whose track records just don't justify it.
