Excel wont work

Hello

I wanted to start doing useful stuff on excel spreadsheet but there is one problem. When i want to open workbook there comes alert saying that "unable to open workbook" its due to old format file or wrong type of file.

What can i do to make it working? Im using Excel 2007 and it wont cooperate

Hi Markoz,

I came across this once. It is down to a bug in Excel and the way it works with .NET applications.

From the Microsoft website:

BUG: "Old format or invalid type library" error when automating Excel.

You run an English version of Excel. However, the regional settings for the computer are configured for a non-English language.

I use openoffice and am having the same problem. After installing language packs it still says "unable to open Excel". Please help anyone?
