This weekend I took part in London's Serpentine Swim in Hyde park. Completed a 1 mile open water swim (my first) in under 30 mins which I am very proud of. There are also 1/2 mile, 2 and I think a 6 mile option too.

Just wondered what everyone else here did to keep fit, is it a priority for you lot and have you (recently) taken part in any event that you're proud of? Myself and my brother have put our names down for the marathon too. I think I've hit a quarter life crisis and am determined to achieve a bunch of fitness goals before I turn 30!

Anyone thinking of doing the swim next year (I'll be doing the 2 mile one) let me know. Would be great to put some names to faces.

You on Strava Cal??

Literally mid-night "zwifting" for me.

Looks like someone else does it too.... clearly he's getting ready to defend his MTB segments :D

I have my own multigym and last year I enjoyed going out for an early or late afternoon run every day all summer. Since getting into Australian racing though, it's a real struggle to find the time for it - I might just go back to planning the days schedule the night before.

I honestly don't understand how anyone with a full-time job can find the time to train for a marathon!

No I'm not but just googled it, may download in the next few days and let you know!

From what I understand, if you do the swim, marathon and 100 mile bike ride you get a special London hall of fame thing and a medal so got my next few years planned. I have no idea how anyone who works full-time does it either yet don't worry

My next door neighbour swam from southern Spain to Morocco (about 10 miles) and he's 60, so no excuse for being an old fart.

I'd love to do the channel in years time. Yeah jimibt, waiting to be ambushed by sarcasm soon

callum - keep it up. i am that old fart... until late last year, i was doing 3 * 1 mile swims a week and then got involved in a small startup. i used to do these swims at 7:00am. now i find i end up going to bed too late to think about 7:00am swimming but at the same time, know that i could be there now, rather than lamenting on my past good habits -sigh

3 miles at most, with a sharp 150-foot climb.
