Sub £2 'net stake' bets don't get placed by Guardian?

I have guardian place backs at well above current price at 12pm using net stake to cover all my overnight lays and then I use 'Take SP' as a failsafe should betfair go down later, but I've noticed that if only £1 lay was matched on a selection no back gets placed. Is this a BA issue related to the £2 minimum bet size? I'm pretty sure sub £2 bets are never a problem when specifying a bet size of sub £2 - i.e when not using net stake. I only started using this method a week ago, and it seems all £1 bets have been missed.

Anyone else noticed this?

BF have minimum bet sizes that they will include as SP bets - £2 back and £5 Lay from memory

The minimum lay for SP is £10, but there's no minimum for backs. In any case the issue here is that the bets are not placed at all by Guardian, SP or not.

Betfair Ts&Cs. Part B, rule 9.
The minimum liability for a bet placed at Betfair SP is £10 for a lay bet and £2 for a back bet (or the currency equivalent in each case).

I successfully back pennies at SP several times a day.

But that's still not the issue here.

Do you have all your funds tied up in the markets at the time? Guardian, despite being able to do the small bets, still has to "cheat" the market by placing the £2 at 1.01/1000, changing it to £2.01 (if your asking a penny) and cancelling the £2 bet.

Might not be the issue. Just a stab.

Couldn't think of any reason why 'Net' stake bets below £2 wouldn't work the same way as regular bets below £2 so just tested it to be sure with 0.50p lay followed by an automated 50p (net stake) back bet which triggered fine

If you try the back at fixed odds of 990 does it work OK?

Kafka, thanks but no, there's plenty of cash available.

Would a bet at these levels, placed so early on, manage to survive when runners are withdrawn and new odds calculated by BF?

I let my lays build up overnight and then at 12pm I tell Guardian to back net stakes at 990. Sometimes I only get £1 lay matched overnight. Then at 12.01pm I 'Take SP' all bets. But Guardian just isn't interested in placing the £1 backs at all (for me). Why was it a 49p back size against a 50p lay? You're not inputting delayed offset bets (with greening?) against the lays, are you? I'm not doing that.

Silly question - obviously not. (But I don't know why it was 49p)

I manually placed a 0.50p lay bet shortly before the back bet rule was armed to trigger
I'm not using any offsetting, in the 2nd image, the lay was for 50p again but the net stake was 49p because i'd previously greened up after the first test for a -1p loss

Have you double checked all the conditions and/or timings of your back bet rule?
