Cross matching gets switched off once there's a non runner, as soon as that's removed from the market it gets turned back on again. If it's too late to remove it before the market goes inpaly then XM is also switched off for the in running market.
Reduction factors don't apply to in play bets so you can imagine it's very easy to manipulate the percentages and betfair would get completely stuffed if they left it on in running

I have bots that see thru the non runners when they're left in the market and it's surprising how steady the over/underround is, I'd hazard a guess there are people playing with no delay in those in running markets
