Except when they play for their national side... :)

Example: 8 years ago, we went 2-1 down against Brazil. From the players' attitudes, it was like we were 4-0 down!

I said english clubs
It`s like spain.. Real madrid and barcellona made football history but, the national team won 10 world cups before the opening games to return home empty handed....for the happiness of all my english friends I would love to see england winning but only if it`s not against ITALY :D

Advantage Chelsea, with Everton failing to win today Liverpool have nothing to play for.

Will they not be playing for 6th place, given that that would mean that they have a chance of qualifying for European football next season?

Also, although Liverpool are extremely unlikely to get 4th place, it's still a theoretical possibility. As a Man U fan, I hope they show the same spirit tomorrow as they did when they were 3-0 down against Milan! :)

Chelsea in the FA Cup final means there are seven places and Liverpool are assured of 7th place now.

I was wondering why the BBC website had moved the red line under 6th place to under 7th place!

Thanks for that. :)

Isn`t the 7th place for the relegated PORTSMOUTH?

No Pompey will not be allowed to play in Europe due to going into administration

It's a shame it's been allowed to come to that.

Hopefully one day UEFA will introduce a cap on footballer wages and transfer fees, so that clubs don't go broke trying to make sure they have the talent to stay in the Premiership...

Jeff,

just so that you don't go to bed too pessimistically, not having anything to play for is sometimes a godsend, let's 'em relax and play without fear,

cheers, P

Currently 2-0 to Chelsea and outright premiership market now at 1.11 for Chelsea.

I'm not watching the match, but from what I heard, it sounds like Gerrard forgot that he hasn't moved to Stamford Bridge just yet...
