The Spanish have never been known for having a strong defense.SeaHorseRacing wrote: ↑Wed Jun 20, 2018 10:51 pmThey were horrendous! What annoys me is they will turn up in a few games. Their defence looks dodgy as shit to me.
Look at Real Madrid or Barcelona. Their game plan is just to score more goals than the opposition does.

Germany at 1.45 looks a little short for me on Saturday.

Without stating the obvious, Mexico worked out Germany tactically with those speedy counter attacks. It's no coincidence that Mexico had 4 players rated over 8.0, whereas Germany's best player was 7.72
Mexico:
Gallando 8.54
Lozano 8.43
Ochoa 8.25
Herrera 8.29
Germany
Draxler 7.72
If Mexico can maintain some form of consistency, then it'll show they can adapt their game to other opposition. If not, other teams will work them out in the later stages.
As for Germany, they are more than likely to put things right, however, if could also be one of those years they struggle. Makes for interesting viewing.
I wouldn't write off ze Germans quite yet, but next game will be interesting, a bit of pressure on them now.
Also read this earlier :
If Spain and Portugal win, draw or lose by identical scores in their remaining game, the group winner/who goes through will be decided by Fair Play points!
If their Fair Play points are identical too, then they will draw lots to decide who tops the group/goes through.

have a great chance to stamp some authority today. Could look like the winners if they perform and even become market leaders.

Certainly getting a load of penalties via the VAR, they're being very lenient in granting them
It was supposed to be used in situations where the ref has made a clear/obvious mistake but looking at some of the pens, in particular, it seems like its being used to award where ever a foul etc is committed no matter how small
