I turned my hand to the racing this afternoon and evening for my first day or proper trading with real money. No looking back now.
27 races traded - 22 in profit and 5 in loss. Relatively small stakes today but the money is less important than the proof of concept so I'm very happy with that!
I finished the day with 10 consecutive profits and my 5 biggest profits were bigger than my biggest loss. One day at a time but I am very confident and looking forward to turning my hand hand to the football and the automation, both specialist area for me.
I'd like to convey my thanks to Peter, the Bet Angel team and the forum contributors for helping me on my way. Thanks guys!

Keep a cool head and keep your style of trading that has so far brought you success. One of the mistakes that most traders have made, including me, is getting carried away after one or two successful weeks, drastically increasing stakes, taking bigger risks, etc.
Good luck.
Great advice, I've done the same thing. Very easy to put too much emphasis on either a good or bad run of results.Derek27 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 10, 2017 10:35 pm

Heres a better one though.I was full time but only a few months ,,I had won 17 days in a row and very few losing trades a good run for me " I had the supertrader cape on" I was invincible I couldn't lose .I bumped into my mate who was training to be a social worker "I wouldn't get out of bed for that money I was thinking " the ego trader has arrived .he asked how I as doing and how my trading was going "I couldn't wait for him to ask " I said fantastic ,making £150 a day ,he said wow thats fantastic ,I then replied I am on course to make FIFTY THOUSAND this year ,he said fook me thats awesome ,I then reassessed and said loudly actually more like ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND..well that blew his mind and I was basking in the glory .we parted and I strutted off with my copy of the racing post under my arm .that day started the most horrendous trading run I ever had ,losing day after losing day .it lasted about 9 days " my cockiness had stuck the kryptonite in me ,supertrader was crumbling ..anyway I recovered after eating some big humble pie and have never forget that experience haha
Thanks for the comments guys. Predictably it's been a much tougher day for me today and I a made a modest loss overall. Every race card today seemed tricky and there seemed to be quite big chunks of money seemingly "hearding the market" in ways that I didnt expect. On the plus side I got more experience and it was a bit of a wake up call to stop me getting cocky so probably a good thing overall.
