I'm confused....is Douvan running again today? Is that because it was entered for both and because it fell and is ok, they're going in the 2nd one.
If it had run further on Wednesday (although it was only 4 out) would it not be running today?
Excuse my ignorance of how things work.
Cheltenham Festival 2018
They would have entered him in both to keep options open, but they would have to be completely bonkers to run such a good horse again, especially when he had such a long lay-off before today's Champion Chase.ShaunWhite wrote: ↑Thu Mar 15, 2018 2:08 amI'm confused....is Douvan running again today? Great shame that he fell when he was going so well - that would have made the finish interesting.
Edit: you may notice the back overround is 98%. Normally when a fancied runner isn't expected to run Betfair remove liability offset from the market and state that in the race-specific rules that you find on the website. They haven't done that for today's race.

Thanks, if it's withdrawn I guess there'll be a deduction?
There will, it's currently 20% but that can be adjusted.
I remember laying the field in the 2009 Irish Champion Stakes for a good green book, before realising that if Sea The Stars doesn't run (wasn't certain due to softish ground), smaller reduction factor than price indicated, I would have been left with a massive red book!
I try an avoid trading races where it's uncertain, not only whether a horse will run but what reduction factor will be applied. But on occasions you can use it to your advantage if you're fairly certain what RF will be applied and how much the prices will change.

That was a textbook market. Steady moves and then late corrections

Betdaq seemed quite choppy in the 1.45pm at Hexham.
