Starting tomorrows final big on Thiem... 4.8 heavily reflects the fact it's 5 sets.. still, I think Rafa has looked 0.1 steps slower this year, and Thiem is moderately stronger than he was last year mentally. I think (hope) it's a contest.

Turned out a good match! More shots to the Stephens backhand seemed sensible..
Y, was beginning to think I was going to just be spectating again but good match in the end and really pleased it went to Halep

Thiem a break down early due to nerves, got it back.. nerves still holding him back slightly.. tempted to suggest he's got the measure of this if he can tame the tension, but it's mile one of a marathon.

An advert for why Hawkeye should be introduced on Clay!

Concerns for Thiem here, I think he might begin to doubt the tactic of standing up to return serve... and Nadal's game plan manifested itself there, hard and high into Thiem's backhand, forcing him backwards giving him a ball on the forehand he can attack... first time it's begun to get a couple of points of traction. He might have had his chances here..

1.1 seems a decent price to oppose Nadal

I think I could count the number of Nadal matches on clay I've traded manually on one hand over the years - so far not looking like I'm adding to that.

On the flip side, he is great to watch especially in finals!

Thiem's 3-point fight back was the best part of the match so far, 1.02 to 1.05.

My money's right at the front of the 1.02 queue if or when it gets there. :P

Is there any chance of Nadal pulling up?
