World Cup 2018
I’be analysed the game in great detail and came up with the conclusion that they didn’t know how to control the game after scoring too early & bottled it, like what Roy Keane was saying at half time, he was spot on.Euler wrote: ↑Thu Jul 12, 2018 3:50 pmHere is an excellent analysis on last nights match: -

England need to learn how to put teams to bed, (like the Sweden game) but against the likes of a stubborn Croatia, I did think England would win on Wednesday night but not surprised they didn’t.
Best game I think I’ve seen England play where they’ve been in control of a competitive game against a decent team was the 4-1 win against the Dutch back in ‘96.. over 20 years ago, I used to be on edge when watching England play.. excited, used to rush home from school to watch the World Cup qualifiers (away) when they used to be played in the afternoons (0-8 away win against Turkey, 1-4 away win against Yugoslavia if memory serves), but not anymore as I never expect them to do anything, this year was an exception BUT look at the opposition they had, Croatia was underestimated by all & England got found out.

Just wished all the worlds best teams where there and not geographically.
I still cannot comprehend the fact that the like of Saudi Arabia usually make it to a World Cup. Why can’t it just be the 32 of the best teams.
And again why do nations that can’t produce a football team host a World Cup?
I’m all for opportunity. Anyway Qatar team will be unhiliated possibly 15-0 in every game in 4 years time.
That’s all I have to say on world cups.

OK, I know it wasn’t the World Cup that was won BUT I give you Greece & Denmark winning the Euros back in ‘04 & ‘92 respectively, it’s not always the “best” teams that win, take the FA Cup for example, Wimbledon, Southampton, Coventry, Wigan, underdogs DO win from time to time,SeaHorseRacing wrote: ↑Sat Jul 14, 2018 8:57 pmJust wished all the worlds best teams where there and not geographically.

Take the 2002 World Cup for example, South Korea & Turkey both made it to the semis, both with a bit of luck could’ve been in the final.
jeez - SH, your post comes over as a white supremisist dogma. the world should be always looking to the underdog and should always be opening doors, rather than buliding bridges (unless of course those bridges connect meanifully). sorry, but that's how this reads...Korattt wrote: ↑Sat Jul 14, 2018 9:06 pmOK, I know it wasn’t the World Cup that was won BUT I give you Greece & Denmark winning the Euros back in ‘04 & ‘92 respectively, it’s not always the “best” teams that win, take the FA Cup for example, Wimbledon, Southampton, Coventry, Wigan, underdogs DO win from time to time,SeaHorseRacing wrote: ↑Sat Jul 14, 2018 8:57 pmJust wished all the worlds best teams where there and not geographically.

"Nothing in all the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity."
