How far ahead do the markets usually go live?
Usually a couple of days, but you won't get much activity in them even the night before.

Peter webb -trading cheltenham,
the fact that this video only has 4,400 views shows just how small our trading community really is,
Great information,
Thanks peter,

I see on Twitter this morning that Peter is worried that Tuesday's card might be lost due to the weather forecast being similar to that of 2008.
For someone so optimistic normally he seems to be being very pessimistic and I am not sure why as the forecast doesn't look that bad at all. Certainly nothing to threaten the day's action. Tuesday is looking wet with a bit of wind but nothing that strong and Wednesday morning there is chance of strong winds but they should all be gone by race time and it looks like it will be a fantastic day's weather on Wednesday come the first race.

After the flu breakout they'll be pulling out all the stops to ensure it goes ahead. I doubt a bit of wind will be enough for them to cancel.
There is still heavy rain forecast in the morning until just after lunchtime with winds in the region of 14mph-18mph throughout the day
(Chelt is located a few miles to the NE of Gloucester on that 2nd map roughly where the wind speed of 'Ross on Wye' is situated)

Wednesday was cancelled last decade due to strong winds, but that was for human safety rather than horses being unable to race in the wind. I would question whether it's sensible or necessary to have large tents on the racecourse if that's going to be an issue with strong winds.
