Furthermore Oven Chips, Air Fryer Chips, Microwave Chips do not cut it taste wise, there is a marked downturn in taste.

Hail the old fashioned traditional chip pan. (never leave one unattended)
I just use an ordinary saucepan with oil and a scoop to remove the chips onto some kitchen towel. :D

I just phoned my sister, who happens to be visiting Auschwitz.

Luckily she didn't answer the phone but called me back. :D

My Betfair account has a penny more than it should have. I've gone through two days of markets and can't find the discrepancy, so I've moved the penny into a suspense account. :D

I found a really useful countdown timer on the web. Just put the date and time of a big event in the URL, make it your start page and each morning when you open your browser you'll know how long to go before a big event. :D

Little Caesar made in 1931 is one of my fave films.

The Gold Rush 1925 is another.

Charlie Chaplin born in 1889 and Edward G Robinson born in 1893 still entertaining me and others in 2024. :)

Indeed. There is a treasure trove of brilliant films from way back.
What tickles me is when they try to remake them. I've yet to see one that surpassed the original. Most just look like they've run out of ideas and think "OK let's remake XYZ".

Bogart was born 1899. Casablanca. To Have and Have Not.

The other thing is they were black and white. But you don't mind because the lighting and cinematography is so good.

James Stewart b. 1908. Now there's a list of great films. Vertigo, The Man Who Knew Too Much, High Noon, Rear Window, The Philadelphia Story, Harvey and of course It's a Wonderful Life.
