In my day job..I spend some of my time in the eGaming sector. Just recently there has been talk about the U.S. relaxing/changing the current law on online gaming. I believe that the state of California is one of the front runners?

I knew that Betfair had bought TVG in anticipation of the laws changing in the future.
Just wondered how things might change for us in the UK if the law changed in the U.S...More liquidity; Inplay (?) Etc...
Also; If Betfair has presence in Italy and Germany, why can we not bet on their markets (or can we??)

would a law change like this lead to virtual 24 hour trading opportunities??? if bet fair became anywhere near as big in the US as it is here wouldn't that mean all the US races would have similar liquidity to the UK ones???
A Californian exchange was technically allowable years ago but horsemens groups wanted to big a cut off BF. Nowadays the problem is that anti online gambling is a big business for political lobbyists. Check out this mob
