Part of the reason I quoted my earlier comment in that last post was because I had no idea what it was then and still don't know what it is now - there is just something about him and his campaign I just can't put my finger on.

If he were to get down to the last two I would have thought he would lose to no matter who he was up against

In addition to my original smaller position on Rory earlier I also took one against BoJo, just on the grounds he's now so short and that he'll still say or do something to push his price out a decent way - even if he does still go onto win.

Now I just have to do what the Government has failed to do and find a good exit strategy

If you're part of the decision-making Tory demographic, would you trust a gobby, gaff-prone caricature or an ex-military, professional diplomat?

Fair point. Although it looks like they are actually going to go for the novelty jug !

Lobby Hustings underway, everyone but BoJo has agreed to take part and are allowed 20mins each to speak

No filming though due to parliament rules

Interesting comments from Jeremy Vine today who said he saw boris giving the same speech months apart and he stumbled in exactly the same places, arrived exactly the same amount of time late and 'flustered', and did the exactly same 'ad libs etc etc. The clown act is contrived, rehearsed and is no more than a scripted performance. I think everyone suspected that but people don't seem bothered he's treating everyone as though they're fools, as most Eton boys do.

Quite baffling that the PM in waiting wont even meet journalists in private.
Using the same approach as May in the GE and that didn't end well...

2nd round results due at 6pm.
Candidates need to gain at least 33 votes from MPs to remain in the race to reach the final run-off, which will see 160,000 Tory members select the next prime minister.

If all candidates pass the threshold, the one with the lowest total will be eliminated and by the end of the week, four of the six current riders will be forced out, leaving the final two to go head-to-head for votes from the Tory grassroots.

If Raab's 30 votes all flip to BoJo he'll be on 156, just 1 short of having a majority
