Unusual occurrence when trading yesterday. I cancelled an unmatched order which disappeared from my screen as normal. A second or two later the order was matched.
Is this a problem with my internet connection? Can anybody suggested why this happened and how to avoid in the future?
Cancelled Order Gets Matched
The problem I'm getting is that I'm operating a Lay offset with greening in Excel (using fill or kill) and sometimes the offset bet is not being triggered when the lay is taken leaving me exposed. I'm having to devise alternative strategies because of this. Like you, I'm assuming that the problem is at my end, as no one else has reported this.
I had that happen to me once a while ago Mushin and tbh thought it was just my mistake. May have been some sort of temporary bug or display issue. I wouldn't worry too much about it myself unless it happens again, things like that tend to be pretty rare fortunately
This happened to me in a race at Salisbury two days ago, I even sent Betfair the BA log, showing me cancelling the bets and them being matched 3 seconds after I cancelled, they responded by saying there was an error and my bets were matched and theres nothing they can do about it, I asked what was the error and its not really my problem there was an error and I want my money back, there yet to respond.

Has anyone had this problem resolved? I had it happen to me again last night, where I cancelled a bet but 2 seconds later it was taken.

The bet ending 766 was taken at 02:34:03 which is two seconds after it had been cancelled.
I've been in touch with Betfair and they say that we've investigated this issue further and our logs show that you attempt to cancel betId 766 was rejected because the bet was matched at 24/08/2015 02:34:03 and the times logged on Bet Angel are 2 seconds earlier than those we've recorded. This suggests that a slight syncing issue between your own computer and the Betfair server clock. I would double check your computer's clock or refer back to Bet Angel regarding the specific times they are logging.
I'm not sure if there taking the piss or not?
