Rather than debate the pros and cons of the situation I'm pro-actively betting on a fairly long period of disruption and economic uncertainty in the UK. If this is the path we have chosen then I may as well make the most of it.

You laugh Peter, but Tories are divided over Europe just like 90's, Labour are imploding - they have lost Scotland and are losing the working class North, Lib Dems are so insignicant nobody really heard from Fallon in the debate

UKIP are the one party who wanted Brexit, so who's to say they are not the best equipped to implement it?

They will never be in a better position to take advantage of their rivals weaknesses than now

the ones profiting most will be the lawyers, maybe invest in them :-)

Jokes aside, everybody keeps saying gold is useless and bonds are dangerous. But again and again they offer protection and upside in times of crisis. Pick US, german and for instance Nordic bonds and you lower your exposure to the pound as well. I'd be interested to hear your views on this.

How's this for a scenario:

After losing the US General Election, Donald Trump moves to Scotland (he has Scottish ancestry right?). After several years of instability in England, Trump manages to exploit the ensuring chaos and changes in eligibility rules to run for and win leadership of the UKIP party, which subsequently storms to power in the next general election based on Trump's promises to 'make Britain great again'.

Never really liked bonds as they don't offer the growth potential of equities or instruments that can benefit from reinvestment of earnings.

I added to ULVR and defensives that will benefit from a falling pound.

I think the world is in the mood to elect Trump and then the fun and games really start.

I don't know why everyone is having kittens, it's not as if the Eurozone is some kind of economic utopia; Draghi is printing billions of Euros everyday just to keep it afloat.

When the dust settles everyone will see that getting out of a centrally planned, socialist superstate will be the best thing that could have happened to the UK economy (and its people) in the long term.
