They won't give a eta so I would write it off for tonight, Smarkets and bookies if any have interest, so frustrating, had a 40/1 horse won today that was a ProForm system pick, I could only get 1 euro on it as it was about the time of the outage :(, I would normally had a level £10 stake on place and win, a bummer as the boss said.

Preperation is what is needed, not running race to race

Things are slowly getting fixed.

My outstanding trades (in play) on the 14:25 Towcester are now settled.

Stuff is going green on here http://status.developer.betfair.com/

Although I benefited from the outage (at least I think I have), it would be fairer if they simply voided day of race markets if the exchange is not operational at off time. At least you would have piece of mind.

Not if you straight backed or layed and your bet won only to then be told your not getting paid out due to technical difficulties several hours after your bet was placed and accepted.

And what would you do with the people, who have actually placed bets via the exchange? I realize that the exchange is by and large run off trades, and horse races probably more so than other sports. But I know quite a few people who use it as a straight sportsbook (to compliment other books). That would mean making the concession that the exchange is only a trading platform, which is another thing, I doubt BF will be doing. And frankly, I don't think, it'd be in our interest as traders.

I'm not looking to use Betfair again today until the dust has settled and we have an attempt at an explanation.

If the opportunities are there, I just might. Albeit with a tigher BR management than usual.

Btw, they just cleared the open bets from a few markets that are currently in-play. Previously one of the last things, they do before going online again...

.....And just as I press post on that, they're back online. For the brave souls

That was the longest disruption I've ever known.
